Our Design Process

A landscape is a dynamic setting that continually evolves. Careful thought should be given when planning a landscape. Every design project follows a 6 step process to achieve this goal and ensure satisfaction.

  • 1

    Initial Consultation

The initial meeting starts with a "walk though" of your property. At this time, we will discuss your needs and wants, likes and dislikes, and answer any questions you may have. Gathering this information is an essential part of the design process. We will discuss the design process and develop a program encompassing the character of the garden you desire and set goals to make your expectations a reality.

  • 2

    Research and Preparation

    • Obtain a copy of Plat of Survey
    • Conduct a Site Analysis and Site Survey
    • Take pictures of site
    • Field Measure, if necessary
    • Study topography and grading
    • Study surrounding environments
    • Note access to site by vehicles and pedestrians

  • 3

    Concept Design

All elements in combination with site research findings are brought together in a cohesive and aesthetic relationship. Only after this study is a loose functional diagram created.

  • 4

    Review Meeting

Client review of Preliminary Plan to discuss details, ask questions, and make any required changes. This is where the functional diagram areas meld to form designated "rooms". The various components are now presented in a more refined drawing depicting program solution options. It should feel like a "good fit".

  • 5

    Revision Meeting

Client review of preliminary design revisions. Upon approval a Master Plan will be developed.

  • 6

    Master Plan

This is the final step in the process, the final presentation. This is the most precisely drawn plan of the set. Fully-rendered, form and outline of plants, structures, hardscape materials and patterns are detailed. Installation, maintenance and referrals are discussed at this time as well as any remaining questions and concerns.

Plant Health Care

Keeping your new landscape healthy and looking at its peak requires ongoing care. Plant health care is a holistic approach focusing on developing and maintaining healthy plants that resist pests and diseases. Also, plants that are able to tolerate environmental issues caused by our changing climate. Small tasks carried out during the gardening year make the garden tending projects a palatable experience. The tasks are elementary and enjoyable once you know what they are and how easy it is to do them. We offer many plant health care consulting and ID assessments.
